I Like Thomas and Friends More than my Toddler - So Sue Me

My daughter is getting to the age (almost eighteen months!) where she gets bored very easily. I've tried to avoid letting her watch television, but things get dicey when I'm trying to make dinner for us and she's ready to play.

Thanks to Netflix, there is an abundance of kids television shows that she can watch immediately - even split up by age group. Lately I've been selecting Thomas and Friends - the show about steam engine trains.

She definitely likes the music they plan on this show, but that's about it. The songs will occupy her for about 60 seconds and that's just about enough for me to finish washing her highchair tray or flip some grilled cheeses. After that, she's ready to dig in to the grub, and I find myself getting caught up in which engine is going to get praised by Mr. Toppemhat for doing a good job delivering their freight.

I think I need to get out more.
