This is a great story about relationships for children - one of my favorites when I was a child.
I always used to feel sad for the tree, but in the end the tree still wanted to share with the boy (or old man). The drawings are beautiful and simple. Being mostly black and white with touches of green, as I remember it.
This is my personal favorite childrens' story. It was given to me by my dad's friend Joe, and I was always amazed at the impact the story had on me. I'd say it was close to the impact that Les Miserables had on me.
